Clinics/Services

Diabetes Clinic – Held by: Nurses and Doctors within surgery hours. If you are diabetic, please contact our nurses initially.
Cardiovascular Clinic – Held by: Healthcare Assistants within surgery hours. These are for patients who are at risk from suffering High Blood Pressure and Heart Disease.
Asthma Clinic – Held by: Practice Nurses during surgery opening times. Our surgery offers asthma clinics with the practice nurses. Please phone the surgery to make an appointment.
Minor Surgery – Held by: Doctors and Nurses within surgery hours. Certain minor surgical procedures are available at the practice, including excision of skin lesions, joint and tendon injections and freezing of warts and verrucae. Details are available through reception.
Antenatal Clinic – Held by: Doctors within surgery hours. Comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care is provided by the doctors with the help of community midwives (when available) and health visitors.
Child Immunisations – Held by: Nurses within surgery hours. Immunisations are available at the surgery during normal surgery hours and are administered by our practice nurses. Please ensure you bring your child’s health record book to all appointments.
Mother and Baby Clinic – Held by: Health Visitors. They have wide and varied skills and are qualified in health education, screening and counselling in pregnancy, childcare and developmental checks. For child health surveillance, advice, and weighing, a walk-in clinic, run by the health visitors on Wednesdays between 10:30 – 12:00pm.
Well-Woman Clinic – Held by: Doctors and Nurses within surgery hours. Patients can see any of the practice nurses for contraceptive advice. Contraceptive advice and services are available from any of the doctors. It is recommended that all women between the ages of 25-49 should have a cervical smear performed every 3 years, those ages 50-64 every 5 years.
Family Planning Clinic – Held by: Nurses and Doctors within surgery hours. Patients can see any of the practice nurses for contraceptive advice. Contraceptive advice and services are available from any of the doctors.
Counselling – Held by: Ms C Golten or Ms O Beck, In-House Counsellor. The practice employs a counsellor who is available to see patients at the surgery. This service provides an opportunity for people in distress, to come and discuss their emotional difficulties within the context of a secure relationship. Patients wishing to see the counsellor should see their GP in the first instance.
Travel Health – Held by: Nurses within surgery hours. Travel vaccinations should be given at least 4-6 weeks prior to travel in order to be fully effective.
Private Vaccinations – Held by: Nurses within surgery hours.The practice now offers a range of vaccinations available for registered patients. There is a charge payable for some of the vaccines.
